Hi, I’m Laikyn.
I have been a childbirth educator and doula since my daughter was born in April 2020. Having an empowered and educated birth experience changed my outlook on birth forever. Now I love nothing more than educating and empowering others in their births, as well as attending births as a birth photographer and doula.
I am certified as a childbirth educator and doula with The American Academy of Husband-Coached Childbirth (R) and am also certified as a birth doula through Childbirth International. I am a member of the Community Doula Collective in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

My philosophy
My philosophy is that women know how to give birth and don’t need to spend a lot of time learning how to give birth, but rather that families need to spend time learning about the various interventions and options they have when welcoming their new baby. I believe that the systems surrounding birth in the medical model of care are doing a great disservice to families and that it’s up to families to take back their birth experiences through education. I am very selective in the providers and birth places in which I will attend births as a doula and/or birth photographer and believe that provider choice is of the utmost importance in birth planning.
